"Boom. Miracle"

Ciao!!!
I hope everyone back in the states is doing well! I don’t really miss the states yet, but I’m sure I will eventually! its funny cause every American wants to come to Italy, but every Italian wants to go to California! Seriously every Italian is so excited when I tell them I’m from California! they love it or hate it... only like 2 Italians I have ran into have hated America, but oh well haha! America rocks, but I’m really starting to like Italy! so a couple crazy kind of cool things happened this week. so first of all this past Sunday. the branch president told me to prepare a little spiritual thought for this meeting we were having with the district president after, so that first of all made me a little nervous! Cause idk why but it just did, so I was preparing for that. then when I show up to church they needed a gospel principles teacher, so of course they ask me... so i did my best to fill and hour with gospel principles haha it was a fun class! so that was stressful, but the most stressful thing was sacrament, we have it third hour so some members don’t show up till that hour, but this meeting our district president was there so it was supposed to run really smooth. we had planned the talks for everyone 2 weeks before and we thought it would go smooth. turns out 2 of the speakers don’t show up... so naturally they ask me to fill this time slot haha. They would have asked my companion but he just talked like 2 weeks ago for another fill in. I couldn’t help but smile the whole time because i know they all could not understand haha it was funny but I think it was a good experience! I think that really helped me just get over the whole being perfect with the language deal... life goes on regardless. and I can still teach with the spirit anyways, so whatever! it was a super stressful day and super crazy! the next weird story i will give brief summary on is this guy we contacted in the street, he was an ok guy at first, but as we found out he turned out to be either crazy or insane... not sure still. after he wasn’t interested, he asked me to grab his nose, so naturally I obliged, don’t know why still, but after he asked me and my companion to punch him in the face! like dead serious just punch him in the face! haha he was weird... we didn’t obviously we awkwardly backed away and kinda ran, but yeah weird people everywhere.
ok now some cool stories. I have been praying really hard to understand this language and yesterday i think they finally paid off. Yesterday I was in the middle of a lesson. and this lady, she can talk! like the last couple times I don’t even try to understand cause she talks for an hour straight. this time I was kinda the same, but then like half way through i decided to stop trying to translate it into English in my mind and just take the words in Italian and not think about it. its crazy! I can pretty much understand it all! I was so happy! like ecstatic! I felt kinda bad too cause I was smiling cause I could understand but she was talking the whole time about her life and how she has to move cause of her home and the situation she is in.. real sad. but I understood! miracle! boom! I’m still not good with everyone, but it was a nice sign of some work and what I know I can do with faith and work! the other cool story is that this week I went on my first Scambio (exchange) and it was great! I went to Pesaro, turns out other cities besides Ancona are really nice and like super Italian! haha I love Ancona, but it was cool to see a real like nice city! OK long story short we had a first lesson with this guy and it was so cool. He felt like we were answers to his prayers after his really sad story, he was crying he was so happy and sad and then i commit him to baptism! boom miracle! He’s not in my district so its kinda a bummer, but still cool! and lastly Claudia is still on for baptism and it will happen next Friday! its gonna be awesome!
ok love you all! thanks for the prayers! i pray for you always!

TI VOGLIO BENNE!

Happy Mothers Day

The last time our family had a missionary call home for Mothers day I remember crowding around Grandma and Grandpa Mosher's speaker phone. We all had to battle for speaking time to talk to my brother Kyle. It was fun and great! I loved talking to Kyle. But, technology has made things a little better. Oh how times have changed....Sunday morning we had just finished eating delicious breakfast and were waiting for TyTy to call home. We were all a little anxious, trying to figure out what he was going to do and when he was going to do it. Brian luckily was paying attention. Because before we know it he is telling us to gather around the computer to see Ty!!! There he was on the computer screen: laughing, talking, smiling, and joking around. It was awesome. I could tell he was excited to understand every word we were saying. Dad was not too happy with the technological advancements, due to some technical difficulties at the beginning, but soon enough he came around and enjoyed every second. Right Dad?

He told us many stories, introduced us to his companion, then had to run off to an appointment. Some things he shared: He walks everywhere...He has lost 3 pounds...He misses Peanut Butter...He runs in the mornings....He does his own cooking...He loves what he is doing...

The purpose of the call was for Mothers day. Ty did a good job wishing her a Happy Mothers day. We all feel pretty lucky

to have a mom so awesome. A mom who worries for us, loves us, and cheers us on no matter what we are going through. Ty loves Mom, and is was a great Skype session.

6 months till the next call. Christmas! Lets all pray that he learns the language quickly and continues his awesome work.

He did not have much to say because we just talked to him, but here is his message this week.

Ciao!

This weeks letter will be short because I have to run some errands and I really want to go buy this pizza I hear is really good! umm I learned a new word this week I have been usiong alot, well a couple. the first is bidogni! It means" like trashcan" but here we use it when we show up to an appointment and no one is there and they pretty much bail on us. it's pretty sweet! We used it alot this week but the work continues, always! The other is "che pizza" pretty much slang for bummer! haha I ove it! and the last is miracoli! "its miracle!" Athough no big miracles this weeek there has been a lot of small ones of people coming to find us and wanting to come closer to their Heavenly Father! its great to see small ones and I know it wil lead to big ones! I keep praying and keep working hard and I know it will work out. OK so i found out why we dont do many dinner appointments here yesterday too. Yesterday we visited one of the 2 families in our branch, the Aranas family. We arrived at 3:00 and they talked continually till 9:30!! NO JOKE. haha!! They are a great family. But, it was crazy! My brain was in over-drive trying to keep up with them. But, for the most part I got the gist of what they are saying! OK I have to go. My companion has been standing waiting to go for like 12 minutes now... haha OK. Love you all! Pray for you always! The Church is true!

Ciao!!

Ty: Ancona, Italy

Ciao!!!
Sono qui in Italia! as I’m sure alot of you had heard, i am here in italy! the real mission has begun and its crazy and weird and just razy. so first let me tell you where i am, I am in Ancona. it is the furthest south i can possible go in my mission area.It is a beautiful city (in some parts) but it is right on the coast so its really nice weather all the tme! it is kinda sketchy in some parts and dirty, but overall it is real pretty and real italin here! my companions name is Anziano Garcia, he is from argentina but has been living in rome for the last 9 years i think. He i a great guy, an extremely hard worker, and really good missionary! so if your wondering if he speaks english... well, sort of haha. he is actually really good for only learning what he knows on his mission. but there is definatley a language barrier. im not gonna lie, its really hard sometimes. the first couple days were some of the most frustrating and hard times ive had. But, im learning patience haha. <it is good for me i know it is, i just need to stay focused on the work and all will be ok. I know it! The church is true, it has to work! haha alora... but yeah. i do think i am learning the language better, but it is one step at a time. what people say about them speaking a different language is totally right. my teachers spoke clear and slow, these italians speak fast and slured haha, its great! really it is, i just smile and laugh at them all the time because they are such great people. its great cause all the old italian women you imagine, are actually here in italy! they all use their hands all the time and just yell, its so great! i love it! alora.... it is only me and my companion in this city, so we get the appartment all to ourselves! we literally eat pasta every day haha and its always lunch time, we dont have time to eat a good dinner plus it is just the culture here to eat the big meal at lunch rather than dinner, im still getting used it. but ht pasta really makes me sleep well each night! pasta comba! the people in my branch are great! its really small, only about 20 member come to church each sunday, but they are all awesome member! they will seriously do everything and anything, and i imagine it would be har to stay strong in such a small branch, but they are so great! since its such a small branch that means i am in the branch presidency, which pretty much means im in the bishopric. its great haha. my compnion is the first counselor and i am the second counselor. so i have to plan all the talks and all that, which is hard since there isnt much to choose from. i think ill have more responsibilities once i get better at the language and all that, but we will see. We are also in charge of seminary which is twice a week, and i am also teaching an english class twice a week as well. thats an adventure in itself haha. besides that we go out and give as many lesons as we can, and try to contact people however we can, but its hard here. no real houses only appartments so door to door is had through an intercom. we really get most of our lessons from referells. without those we would be dry! but the work continues! so now let me tell you about my first experiences teaching they are crazy. so my first lesson in italy was crazy! we had two investigators show up at the church at the same time, one band new and one has been interested in the hcurch for years! so we split up and i had to teach a lesson on my own. i got the new investigator for some reaon haha so her name is claudia and she is from africa somewhere. she speaks portugese, and italian but it is with the thickest african accent ever. so we start and i do my lesson par and i ask my first question and he goes off! for like 10 min, i literally have no idea whatshe said! i just nodded my head and smiled haha then i tried to teach more, probably totoally off topic what she was talking about. so this wen on for like 20 min, so i ran out of things to say so i naturally just ask her to follow the example of jesus christ and be baptized on the 25th. for some crazy miracle she said yes! she talked more and i didnt understand a thing! not one thing! but i knew she said yes haha. it was a miracle! we have taught her twice since then and is our strogest investigator to this day! its great! if the church isnt true then this lady is just crazy haha but no i dont know how it happened, but it did! boom miracle! there are other stories of some drunk italians and other weird things, but those arent important haha. but the people here are so great! i cant wait to speak italian, and more importantly understand what they are saying! please keep praying for me, i really appreciate it! this work s hard... but i came here to do hard things! so onward i go! I love you all so much, i miss you and keep you in my prayers.

ci ve diamo!
